Service Description
Yoga Nidra - or yogic sleep, is a type of guided meditation, which moves you into the space just between sleep and wakefulness. We use a plethora of props to help us get very comfortable, usually lying down, we breathe mindfully, listen, move our awareness around our body, and visualize. Use 1-3 blankets and firm pillows, and a yoga mat. Join us virtually every Wednesday from 8:30pm to 9pm. 60min Restorative Lullaby for your parasympathetic nervous system. Did you know; Body functions stimulated by the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS) include sexual arousal, salivation, lacrimation, urination, digestion, and defecation. Parasympathetic activation leads to decreased cardiac output via decrease in heart rate, resulting in a tendency to lower blood pressure. The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. ... Our parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated when we relax into poses, which promotes a relaxation response and reduces stress in our bodies.
